Job Summary and Qualifications

The Trauma Research Director promotes quality care through the coordination and development of research and education. The Research Director promotes advancement of research and innovation in trauma and acute care and is an expert in clinical research.
What you will do in this role:
+ Develop processes for monitoring and improving the financial performance and resource utilization of the Trauma Center.
+ Perform strategic planning and coordinate optimal care of trauma patients across the care continuum.
+ Coordinate efforts between local and regional trauma systems.
+ Monitor clinical processes, outcomes, and system issues related to the quality of care provided.
+ Develop quality filters, audits, and case reviews to identify trends and events.
+ Design the trauma registry to facilitate performance improvement activities, trend reports, and research while protecting confidentiality.
+ Manage the processes for verification and re-verification for the Trauma Center.

What qualifications you will need:
+ Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
+ Bachelors Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
+ Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
+ Trauma Nursing Core Course, or TNCC Instructor
+ Maintain a minimum of 10 CEU's in Trauma Nursing annually
+ Certification through Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and or Advanced Trauma Course for Nurses (ATCN)
+ Possession of a certified Trauma Room nursing (CEN) or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate is preferred
+ Three years of professional nursing experience in an inpatient critical care or trauma nursing area or trauma intensive care unit
+ Background in trauma system management essential - required
