    Job Description

    A large financial services client is looking for a Sampling and Test Development Specialist to join their Global Risk division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SAS programming and data analysis, with the ability to optimize code for performance efficiency and troubleshoot issues effectively. They will be joining the Associate Surveillance team. This team is responsible for making sure associate are following internal bank policy and procedures. They will work with logical tests to monitor for whether those controls are working effectively. The Sampling and Test Development Specialist, with minimal supervision, works in collaboration with the Test Owners, Front Line Units, other Sampling and Test Development resources along with the Test Execution Teams to design and assess the quality of both manual and automated tests, validate data sourcing, conduct required sampling governance or distribute samples for testing, and design or revise sampling procedure documentation, with expert level efficiency and quality. This includes driving test structure to support automation. They will make required changes to new and existing test scripts and test plan documentation, as well as sample and data requirements and maintain integrity within the system of record.

    Their day to day will include:

    - Working with the test owner for code walk through.

     

    - The manager will provide an intake to this candidate to build and from there you will set up a call with the test owner to review the plan. This will focus on building or fixing an internal procedure.

     

    - On a daily basis they will be writing code, validating if the code is correct, working with the test execution team and test owner. to ensure they agree with the outcome.

     

    - Once their code is approved, they will work with the system admin team to create space in the system. This will entail sending data mapping documents to determine the fields, characters, etc and design the pilot process. This will include updating UAT Testing documentation.

     

    - Once it is approved in the system, the QA process will begin and the build will be put into production. They will work with Autosys to ensure it goes through the system correctly and doesnt have special access or field Autosys doesnt accept.

     

    - They will document the entire project trajectory in the internal documentation system to ensure other members to follow can see their project details from creation/intake to fruition.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - 3+ years with SAS programming (not from a model development standpoint)

     

    - Experience with Code related UAT testing.

     

    - Exposure to Python is preferred

     

    - Strong understanding of bank policies and procedures

     

    - Advanced knowledge of data warehouse and mining concepts and baseline understanding of SAS/SQL/Python query language and syntax

     

    - Experience building queries to source data from a variety of different types of data sources such as DB2, Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop, Hiv null
