Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our clients innovative and growing team. This Sr. Data Engineer will be responsible curated data (data models, data ETL pipelines, views) in an Azure-based environment to support their upcoming implementation. Cloud based data engineering is required and experience using the Azure stack. The engineer will be a part of an innovative team working to partnering and work closely with the current team(s) and stakeholders across the enterprise on this continued Microsoft push, focusing on Purview as priority deliverable. Candidates must possess the technical capabilities to extract, retrieve and analyze data with SQL based tools. The engineer should possess strong interpersonal communication skills to be able to bridge the gap between business and technical users to understand and assess requirements and deliver data driven solutions. The role will also involve adhering to data governance standards and practices along with experience developing in an agile environment using Azure boards. This role can pay between 65-75 depending on experience.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years experience as a Data Engineer working in a Microsoft shop

Strong foundation in SQL for data querying and manipulation

Experienced utilizing Azure Data & Analytics PaaS Services - ADF Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL DW)

Experience with Data Cataloging, Azure Data Ecosystem, and data warehousing

Understanding of data governance and security best practices with Azure Purview

Experience with Azure Security Center to include Key Vault and Azure Function App

Expert in building and managing data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) for ETL/ELT processes

Experience designing data models optimized for Azure services like Cosmos DB (NoSQL) and Azure SQL Database (relational) Familiarity with Azure Databricks for distributed data processing

Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for data processing automation (beneficial) null
