    Description

    The role involves creating and executing security projects and programs to improve Amazon's software security state. The Security TPM must understand core security concepts and develop expertise in specific domains like offensive, application, or cloud security to lead engineering initiatives while maintaining high security standards.

     

    The role requires working independently while managing ambiguity in business problems and technical solutions. The TPM will need to communicate effectively with engineers using technical language while delivering project/program results through both technical and program management skills.

     

    Key job responsibilities

     

    - Lead and manage complex cross-functional technical programs

     

    - Define program strategy including mission, vision, and objectives

     

    - Identify technical dependencies and risks affecting various teams

     

    - Drive improvements quantified with metrics and influence resource allocation

     

    - Understand systems, their limitations, scaling factors, and architectural decisions

    Basic Qualifications

    - 6+ years of technical product or program management experience

     

    - Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent

     

    - Strong technical communication skills at both executive and technical levels

     

    - Deep understanding of software development lifecycle

     

    - Experience with security functions including identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover

    Preferred Qualifications

    - 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

     

    - Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

     

    - Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
