Description
Amazon’s Internal Communications team supporting the Global Operations workforce is seeking an exemplary Business Analyst with broad technical skills to develop data visualizations and build automation solutions that drive business decision making and process improvement. The ideal candidate will draw upon advanced analytical, problem solving skills, and passion for delivering business insights and analytics. In this role, you will leverage dashboards and data sets to create sophisticated analytical modeling and intuitive data visualization. You will maintain regular team reporting for the global Operations Internal Communications (OIC) team, and dive deep into communication channel data to uncover insights, and communicate findings across global stakeholders. You will work with non-tech stakeholders who oversee our communications strategy and execution, and technical partners (e.g., data engineers, business intelligence engineers, etc.) who support our data pipeline to create and maintain dashboards, identify and analyze content/channels, and share actionable insights that drive meaningful change in our communications strategy. This role has great exposure to the broad Operations business, and will help shape the future employee communications and engagement.
Business Analysts are responsible for converting data into actionable business insights. They are analysis experts who leverage a variety of data platforms and analytical tools to provide timely, meaningful, and consumable information. They build deep contextual and domain knowledge. They ensure data quality and build scalable tools. They communicate findings with the most effective and influential methods.
Key job responsibilities
- Dive deep into communications channel and content data to create business reports, uncover insights, and share learnings across a global team of internal communicators.
- Provide data management processes such as accessing raw data feeds, building queries and macros, organizing data and designing reports that present status-at-a-glance visualization for business performance.
- Retrieving and analyzing large sets of data using Excel, SQL, and other data management systems.
- Designing and implementing reporting solutions to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.
- Taking ownership of reporting processes to ensure that each report is accurate and timely with a high degree of customer focus in resolving data discrepancies.
- Building and managing related key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure, control, and benchmark reporting processes.
- Monitoring existent metrics, building new metrics, and partnering with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities.
- Supporting cross-functional teams on the day-to-day execution of data analysis projects.
- Innovating to improve customer experience.

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with Excel
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to executives
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Communications, Marketing, or Social Media measurement
- Understanding of data lakes and data modeling
- Fluency with SQL

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
