    The University of Maine at Presque Isle is seeking a full time, on-campus Administrative Specialist (CL3) to support the Admissions Department.

     

    Admissions is a dynamic and innovative team dedicated to providing proactive support to students. As the first point of contact this role is essential in delivering exceptional customer service and facilitating smooth operations.

     

    The Administrative Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for prospective students, families, and visitors, offering exceptional customer service and administrative support to the Admissions Office. This role includes greeting and assisting guests, answering inquiries via phone, email, and in person, managing application materials, scheduling appointments and tours, and ensuring the smooth daily operations of the office. The Administrative Specialist plays a vital role in fostering a welcoming environment while supporting the admissions team in achieving enrollment goals.

     

    This position works closely with all members of the UMPI Admissions Team and the YourPace Admissions Team to ensure seamless support for prospective students. It also maintains strong working relationships with the Office of Student Records, Student Financial Services, Student Support Services, Athletics, Faculty Members, and Academic Advising to facilitate the admissions process. Additionally, this role collaborates with the University of Maine System’s Shared Processing Center and works across all campus departments to effectively support prospective and incoming students.

     

    The regular hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm EST.

     

    The starting rate for this full-time position is $20.28 (non-negotiable) for a new hire or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee within the ACSUM collective bargaining unit. In addition, the University will contribute up to a 4% matching contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. The UMS is a recipient of the Wellness Councils of America’s Well Workplace Award and offers a wellness program.

    Required Qualifications

    + Education: 60 credits or more of higher education or equivalent work experience and training.

    + Experience: Three years administrative support experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience in a higher education setting
