    The Senior IT Technical Lead position is an upper-level technical position, located within the Advanced Research Computing, Security, and Information unit, and primarily dedicated to supporting operations within the Advanced Structures and Composites Center (Center). Responsibilities include implementation of security solutions and protocols to comply with project requirements, general technical support coordination, project management, software image management, legacy system and server administration transitional support, application administration, automation scripting, and network support coordination. This position also serves as a high-level technical advisor to the entire Center team. Typical hiring range for this soft-money funded position is $55,000 to $70,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

     

    This position requires access to information regulated under U.S. Export Control regulations and therefore individuals must qualify as a U.S. Person under U.S. Export Control Regulations.

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Information Security, or a related field or 5 years of equivalent combination of education and experience;

    + Proven experience working with engineering or other teams to deliver IT solutions;

    + Strong commitment to customer experience, providing leadership and mentoring on customer relationships, accountability, responsibility and urgency;

    + Demonstrated ability to lead in a team environment and coordinate projects;

    + Certification such as GIAC, Certified in Cybersecurity (ISC2 CC), Security+, or agreed upon equivalent is expected to be accomplished within the first three years of employment; and

    + Must be a U.S. Person.

    Preferred:

    + Demonstrated supervisory, leadership, or project management experience;

    + Excellent interpersonal communication and active listening skills;

    + Relevant IT certification(s) such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+. CompTIA Security+, Cybersecurity (ISC2 CC), GIAC, or Microsoft Fundamentals;

    + Knowledge of information security best practices and be able to implement and enforce guidance provided by security staff to comply with ITAR or other security compliance requirements such as NIST SP 800-171, ISO-17025, and CMMC;

    + Experience with Microsoft tenants, specifically GCC High, and applications, such as Entra, InTune, Sharepoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and Office;

    + Experience with Microsoft Azure Government environment;

    + Programming / Scripting experience;

    + Ability to plan and perform involved technical work, presenting new or regularly changing problems, work from broad instruction, and deal with complex factors not easily evaluated;

    + May provide budget input and coordinate work with outside contractors for supported departments as needed;

    + Knowledge of computer fundamentals and computer, peripheral and software operations, including word processing, spreadsheets, database management, system management software, and development tools;

    + Experience with desktop management solutions, network management, A/V, enterprise applications, information security, infrastructure, and enterprise IT management solutions (e.g., TeamDynamix); and

    + Work experience in a higher education environment.
