Elmet Technologies is a leading producer of the high-performance metals including tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum and niobium.
We have an opening at our Euclid, Ohio facility, for a CMM Programmer . Primary responsibility is for interpreting technical data in the form of drawings, specifications, standards and solid models and then programming, testing, and de-bugging coordinate measurement machines (CMM). Subsequent responsibilities are performing physical and dimensional inspection of rolled, machined and fabricated products ensuring the product meets or exceeds the requirements, including but not limiting it to applicable standards, purchase order and drawings specifications.
Job Duties Include, but not limited to:
+ Operates and program coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), surface perthometers, and other automated and computer-controlled equipment to dimensionally inspect product.
+ Provide CMM and general inspection technical support for Inspectors and Production.
+ Perform dimensional, physical and visual inspection of rolled, machined and fabricated products.
+ Use micrometers, calipers, gauges and other manual equipment to dimensionally inspect rolled, machined and fabricated product.
+ Accurately record inspection results (written, electronic and photographic), as required by quality plans, to document inspection process.
+ Perform first article inspections to ensure product conformance prior to full scale manufacturing.
+ Work to meet production schedules by completing inspection on-time and ensure that product is moved in a timely basis to the next work center per the production order.
+ Complete production order confirmations in Global Shop and or other product managing programs to ensure accurate tracking of work orders.
+ Perform task of gathering data, charting, sorting or any other indicators as requested by the Quality Department Manager, Engineering Staff or Lead personnel.
+ Use and perform the appropriate tasks necessary on customer portals.
+ Follow all corporate policies and initiatives, including those on health, safety, environmental and quality.
Qualifications:
+ Knowledge of CMM hardware and programming; specifically, Wenzel or Starrett and Metrologic software preferred.
+ Candidate requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
+ Pursuit of an associate degree in quality engineering or equivalent discipline is encouraged.
+ Previous experience in a machining and manufacturing environment is desirable.
+ Candidate must have a good understanding of GD&T.
+ Candidate must have the ability to understand inspection data and explain how it correlates to the manufactured part.
+ Candidate must have the ability to work with and train co-workers as it relates to the daily functions or skills to performing their tasks
+ Proficient computer skills, especially in MS Office Suite, 3D modeling software, AutoCAD or equivalent a plus.
+ Business needs and trade compliances requirements mandate that this position be held by
+ U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Resident.
+ Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Preferred:
+ Associate’s degree in quality engineering or equivalent discipline
+ American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification.
+ 1-3 years’ experience with CMMs and understanding of machining methods and practices.
+ Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T).
