• Switchboard Operator - PRN

    The Switchboard Operator operates the telephone switchboard and routes calls to appropriate personnel per protocol.

     

    * Announces necessary codes with accuracy and implements emergency response teams utilizing electronic methods.

    * Promptly reports all alarm variances to the security or facilities department as is appropriate

    * Exercises sound judgment in the processing and issuance of code requests to include assessing severity, type, authenticity, etc. Seeks supervisory input as is appropriate. Announces all codes in a timely, clear, and calm manner. Obtains all necessary information from callers requesting a code; including location, age group, etc (i.e. code blue). Accurately utilizes electronic methods to call Rapid Response Team alerts.

    *Minimum Education*

    High school diploma or equivalent X Preferred □ Required

    *Minimum Work Experience*

    Required - 2 years experience in customer service positions.

    Preferred - Experience utilizing multi-line switchboard, particularly in a healthcare environment.

     

    *Required Skills*

    Customer service skills. Extreme attention to detail. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to use computers (email, spreadsheets, presentations, etc.).
