    Job Summary

    The Supply Operations Department is looking for an intern! This internship will provide you with valuable hands-on experience in a real-world utilities environment allowing you to gain exposure to business operations.

    Principal Responsibilities

    + Assist the Chief Operator with the collection of water samples and perform chemical and physical laboratory testing such as turbidity, pH, and UV254.

    + Review and interpret water quality information and data with Chief Operator to ensure water quality and identify any process control issues.

    + Under general direction of Chief Operator review operation of treatment plant pumps, motors, chemical feed systems and other equipment to assure optimum plant performance.

    + Assist with the operation and adjustment of gatehouse valves, screens, grates, reservoirs and related activities.

    + Interest in water treatment/process and/or water quality preferred.

    Preferred Requirements

    + Must be able to work independently, thoroughly, and safely, applying training given.

    + Basic computer skills - desktop knowledge and good typing.

    + Ability to help out with general plant maintenance.

    + Knowledge of basic tool usage would be helpful.

    + Hard working, self-motivating.

    + Able to work with others and follow safe working procedures.

    Education/Certifications

    + Currently enrolled in an accredited college program.

    + Must possess a valid driver's license.

     

    Salary

     

    + This position will run from mid-May through the end of August.

    + Intern will report to our Greenwich location.

    + Full-time (40 hours) is preferred.

    + Intern will be expected to work from 7:00AM-3:30PM.

    + This role will pay $19.00 an hour.
