    Sr. Accountant - 23 Days of Paid Time Off (PTO) Annually, plus 2 floating holidays

     

    We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our client's team in Stamford, Connecticut. This role offers the opportunity to step into a leadership role, oversee month-end close processes, and contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting policies. You will play a key role in ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting while managing and mentoring team members.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee and execute the full month-end close process, including preparing journal entries and reconciling bank accounts.

    • Supervise two accounts payable specialists, providing guidance and acting as a backup when necessary.

    • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of accounts, including the general ledger and balance sheet.

    • Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.

    • Collaborate with the team to identify areas for process improvement and implement effective solutions.

    • Utilize NetSuite and Microsoft Excel to manage financial data and streamline reporting.

    • Support audits and provide necessary documentation to external auditors.

    Requirements

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting roles, with a focus on month-end close processes.

    • Proficiency in account reconciliation, including general ledger and balance sheet reconciliation.

    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

    • Prior management or supervisory experience is preferred yet not required.
