Description We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Seattle, Washington. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, trust management, and general accounting tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills and a keen eye for accuracy to contribute to a dynamic and professional environment.

Responsibilities:

• Record daily check and electronic deposits into the accounting system, ensuring accurate backup documentation is created.

• Communicate with attorneys and administrative staff regarding overpayments and assist in resolving discrepancies.

• Notify legal teams when client funds are deposited into trust accounts or when one-time consultation fees are received.

• Reconcile daily cash receipts with bank reports and track outstanding retainer payments.

• Process monthly invoices, reconcile electronic payment fees, and assist with credit card expense reports.

• Prepare B& O use tax reports and handle invoice data entry with precision.

• Assist in preparing trust check and wire backup packets, including verifying wire instructions and facilitating approvals.

• Conduct annual trust audit letters and provide necessary documentation for month-end trust reconciliations.

• Reconcile various accounts, including prepaids, transit and parking general ledgers, clearing, and temporary hold accounts.

• Manage daily incoming physical mail and perform bank account reconciliations to ensure accuracy. Requirements

Technical certifications in accounting, finance, economics, or business, or a minimum of 2 years of related accounting experience.

General understanding of US GAAP and Accounting Concepts

Proficient in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, or similar software.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Possess exceptional customer-service skills internally with attorneys and staff and externally with firm clients and vendors.
