    Staff Accountant - Hybrid (Work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Office)

     

    We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's team in Stamford, Connecticut. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing financial records, ensuring accuracy, and supporting key accounting functions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team while developing your accounting expertise.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.

    • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure the accuracy of financial records.

    • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.

    • Conduct bank reconciliations to verify and resolve discrepancies in financial accounts.

    • Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking and recording asset acquisitions and disposals.

    • Monitor and analyze inventory records, ensuring proper valuation and reporting.

    • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations to identify and resolve variances.

    Requirements

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field.

    • Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

    • Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.

    • Experience with journal entries and month-end close procedures is preferred.

    • Familiarity with accounting systems, particularly NetSuite, is preferred.

    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
