Description We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our team on a long-term contract basis in New Haven, Connecticut. This role involves overseeing and maintaining enterprise data systems while ensuring efficient operation and support for batch cycles and test environments. The ideal candidate will have experience with modern data tools and technologies, along with a strong ability to troubleshoot and optimize processes.
Responsibilities:
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the enterprise data management technology stack, including production batch cycles and multiple test regions.
• Execute data queries and troubleshoot issues, assessing upstream and downstream impacts to ensure system reliability.
• Plan and manage code promotions, version control, and CI/CD workflows, reviewing test results for accuracy and resolving issues as needed.
• Assist developers with design and implementation tasks, offering coaching and technical guidance.
• Handle setup, configuration, upgrades, and administration of data tools such as DB2, Informatica, and Business Objects.
• Collaborate with vendors to resolve technical issues, including opening support cases and reviewing statements of work.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, while identifying opportunities to improve processes related to service requests, incident management, and change management.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of operational procedures, supporting tactical planning efforts.
• Manage user administration tasks and oversee code management processes.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities to support production batch cycles and test environments. Requirements • Proficiency in data tools and platforms, including DB2, Informatica, and Business Objects.
• Hands-on experience with Apache technologies such as Kafka, Pig, Spark, and Hadoop.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and AWS services.
• Strong skills in algorithm implementation, API development, and data visualization.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD workflows and version control systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize data processes and systems.
• Proven experience in analytics and enterprise information management.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to assist developers and collaborate with vendors. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
