Senior Accountant (Stable Non-Profit Org.)

We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our client's team in Greenwich, Connecticut. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who would like to step into a growing non-profit organization. The position offers the opportunity to oversee key accounting processes and contribute to meaningful organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate financial statements and ensure compliance with reporting standards.

• Oversee month-end and year-end financial closures, maintaining accuracy and timeliness.

• Develop and manage budgets while providing detailed financial forecasts.

• Perform general ledger entries and maintain proper documentation.

• Reconcile accounts, including balance sheets and bank statements, to ensure accuracy.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience with a focus on detail orientation.

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.

• Strong expertise in general ledger management and journal entries.

• Hands-on experience with month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.

• Knowledge of financial practices in industries related to non-profit is a plus
