We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Compliance Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings to ensure compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, and standards. Your work will play an essential part in promoting safe and compliant development within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct field inspections of buildings and properties, ensuring compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, safety standards, and other applicable ordinances.
+ Provide detailed documentation of findings, including violations, approvals, and recommended corrective actions.
+ Interpret and enforce building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and other applicable codes as required for the position.
+ Communicate with contractors, architects, engineers, and property owners to review inspection results, clarify code requirements, and discuss recommended actions.
+ Issue permits and approvals based on inspection results, including follow-ups to verify corrective actions.
+ Stay current on changes to state and local codes, ordinances, and industry safety guidelines.
+ Maintain professionalism and foster positive relationships with community members and stakeholders.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred).
+ Certification or licensure in building inspection or code enforcement (e.g., ICC, IAEI, or other relevant certifications).
+ Previous experience in building inspections, construction, or a related field.
+ Strong knowledge of building codes, inspection procedures, and municipal regulations.
+ Excellent communication skills and customer service abilities.
+ Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and remain professional under pressure.
+ Proficiency with technology and software tools used for inspection documentation.
