Description

Our client is looking for a meticulous and proactive Billing and Collections Specialist to join their team in North Houston, Texas. In this contract-to-permanent role, you will play a vital part in managing accounts receivable, resolving outstanding balances, and ensuring smooth financial operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in collections and account management while contributing to the success of our organization. The position is fully onsite, Monday-Friday from 8-5.

Responsibilities:

• Contact clients to collect outstanding payments and address overdue accounts in an effective and precise manner.

• Review and analyze aging reports to identify overdue balances and prioritize collection efforts.

• Post payments accurately to client accounts, ensuring timely updates to financial records.

• Reconcile accounts by resolving discrepancies and maintaining accurate account balances.

• Collaborate with internal teams to address billing issues and resolve client disputes efficiently.

• Maintain detailed records of collection activities and provide regular updates on progress.

• Conduct account cleanup activities to ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients while ensuring compliance with company policies.

• Identify opportunities to streamline collection processes and improve efficiency.

• Prepare reports for management on collection activities and account statuses.

Requirements

• Proven experience in collections, accounts receivable, and billing.

• Strong skills in analyzing aging reports and identifying overdue accounts.

• Proficiency in posting payments and maintaining accurate financial records.

• Ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies effectively.

• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills for client interactions.

• High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• MS Dynamics or similar ERP software preferred.

• Experience working in the logistics industry is a plus.
