For more than six decades, Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital has been a trusted provider of acute-care services in the heart of North Texas. Our 369-bed hospital delivers comprehensive medical care to Arlington and neighboring communities, including Kennedale, Pantego, Mansfield, Grand Prairie, and the greater DFW Metroplex.

Our facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Level III Maternal Newborn Unit, and Level III Trauma Center. Texas Health Arlington Memorial is a Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center, Chest Pain Center, and Heart Failure Center. We’ve earned the American Heart Association’s Gold Plus award for excellence in stroke, heart failure, and chest pain care. We’re also a Magnet-designated hospital and a Blue Distinction Center for Hip and Knee Replacement and Spine Surgery. Job Description:
Management of Daily Department Activities
Establishes systematic workflow and communication among all areas of radiology, and ensures adequate coverage of all shifts including vacation schedules, absenteeism and turnover.
Supervises all aspect of the department's operation of assigned areas.
Works in conjunction with modality team leaders to update radiology policy and procedure manuals, emergency and disaster plans.
Human Resources
Manages and mentors staff to foster professional growth and development of leaders.
Recommends hiring and retention of sufficient numbers of qualified staff to provide care.
Provides a work environment which attracts and retains customer groups; patients, payers, physicians, employees, families and guests.
Provides professional growth for self and staff through seminars, workshops, and professional memberships to remain current in field of expertise.
Maintains accountability for orientation, continuing education and competency verification of all staff.
Assures licensure and certification of staff.
Accountable for timely performance evaluations.
Remains visible and accessible to staff.
Recommends salary adjustments and manages compression.
Purchasing and Financial Responsibilities
Plans, initiates and approves all equipment service, purchase requisitions and invoices.
Coordinates, processes, and analyzes equipment CER requests.
Establishes and manages tracking mechanisms for cost analysis all department spending.
Assists with using financial and material resources, prepares monthly statistical reports, projects patient volumes and forecasts revenue and expenses.
Manages the Quality Control Program
Arranges for service of equipment, monitors the suitability of repairs, and verifies documentation of equipment service report.
Liaises with service companies to ensure routine equipment maintenance are completed.
Ensures that standards of practice, technical quality, technique charts or protocols, patient and PACS documentation are correct.
Ensures compliance with EPA, JCAHO, OSHA, TDH, and hospital and department standards for safety, infection control, department aesthetics and equipment performance.
Liaises with regulatory inspectors during their inspection of the department.
Manages the Performance Improvement Process
Establishes, designs and monitors quality measurement activities for both patient related and technical quality control.
Reviews technical standards on a regular basis and recommends changes as appropriate.
Compiles and presents data from quality assurance programs as requested by Director.
Identifies and recommends performance improvements.
Investigates complaints, Situation and Unusual Occurrence reports regarding patient care utilizing age specific criteria.
Cooperates and coordinates with other managers in facilitating communication flow and procedures between technical, clerical, support staff, students and other departments.
Plans, coordinates and supervises projects including renovations.
May perform direct patient care as needed for modalities in which a registry/certification is held
Education
Other Graduate of an accredited radiology program Required
Associate's Degree Preferred
Or
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Experience
5 Years experience as a technologist Required
and
3 Years progressive leadership experience Required
Multi Modality Experience a Plus
Licenses and Certifications
CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist Either by the TDH or TMB if ARRT with in 6 Months Required
And
ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire Required
Or
NMT - Nuclear Medicine Technologist Upon Hire Required
Or
ARDMS - American Registry for Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers Upon Hire Required
And
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
Skills
