General Description:
We are seeking a strategic and influential Executive Director, R&D Finance with deep bio-pharma R&D FP&A expertise to join BeOne. Reporting to the Head of R&D Finance, this leader will oversee global R&D financial close, consolidation, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. A key focus will be driving sophisticated investment and productivity analytics to optimize R&D spend and accelerate pipeline advancement. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in global R&D processes, a proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives with clear ROI, and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills essential for partnering with global R&D, Finance, and cross-functional leaders.
Essential Functions of the Job:
+ Lead Global R&D Financial Close & Consolidation: Direct and oversee all aspects of global R&D financial consolidation, annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Ensure accuracy, transparency, and strategic alignment of the R&D budget with corporate objectives and financial targets.
+ Drive Strategic R&D Investment Analysis & Valuation: Conduct sophisticated financial analysis and provide strategic insights into R&D investments across the pipeline and shape R&D Investment allocation strategies. Lead the development and application of R&D valuation methodologies and contribute critical financial expertise to portfolio prioritization decisions to optimize resource allocation and maximize long-term pipeline value.
+ Partner for Operational Efficiency & Cost Optimization: Collaborate closely with R&D functions, particularly Clinical Development, to analyze operational costs, identify opportunities for efficiency gains, and implement strategies to reduce unit costs and improve financial performance while maintaining scientific and operational excellence.
+ Foster Cross-functional Collaboration & Financial Alignment: Build strong, collaborative partnerships with R&D leadership, Portfolio Management, Commercial teams, and Finance colleagues across the organization. Ensure integrated financial planning, align R&D investment decisions with broader business strategy, and effectively communicate financial performance, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.
Education Required:
+ Bachelors’ Degree and/or post-graduate degree (MBA) preferred.
Qualifications:
+ BS degree with 15 plus years of financial planning and finance related roles, preferably in the pharma, biotech or life sciences industry.
+ Bachelors’ Degree and/or post-graduate degree (MBA) preferred.
+ Strong business partnering, influencing and analytical skills with demonstrated business insights and process impact in previous roles.
+ Familiarity with applicable software and reporting system applications.
+ Must demonstrate a conceptual and business-oriented approach to communicating accounting practices and be able to effectively communicate with and influence non-financial business leaders.
+ Strong aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements, including the use of new technology and automation tools.
+ Ability to work in a global, fast-paced environment with great attention to detail.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage critical timelines.
+ Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
+ Ability to maintain a strong network of contacts with external and leading treasury advisors.
+ Strong work ethic with a hands-on, resourceful approach and emphasis on teamwork and integrity.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
+ Lead and mentor 1-2 direct reports within the R&D Finance team.
+ Actively mentor and partner with colleagues across the broader Finance organization to foster development, elevate capabilities, and support their professional growth.
