Job Summary
The Proctoring Coordinator manages testing for the Office of Online Learning and Student Accessibility Services proctoring for the Gulf Coast campus. They are responsible for the day-to-day administration of exams including scheduling and providing testing accommodations as prescribed by Student Accessibility Services.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
+ Communicates with the Office of Online Learning and faculty to coordinate testing services and operations. Serves as liaison to institutions requiring reciprocal proctoring services. Maintains accurate records of exam and proctoring schedules.
+ Ensures that students registered with the Student Accessibility Services have access to reasonable and equitable testing conditions, in compliance with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) guidelines and university policy. Schedules, manages, and delivers academic accommodations for exams including, but not limited to extended testing time, maintaining a minimal distraction testing environment, reading exam items, and scribing exam responses for students. Reviews accommodation plans and testing directions to ensure that exams and accommodations are administered with fidelity.
+ Ensures the integrity of the testing environment and the security of tests and materials. Ensures confidentiality and compliance with university policy and regulation regarding student records.
+ Supervises the Proctoring Assistant by establishing clear work plans, providing ongoing training and coaching, and managing administrative tasks such as schedule creation, timesheet approval, and performance evaluations.
+ Manages Testing Center Lab, ensuring all computers are working and room is well organized. Reserves additional rooms as needed for extended SAS testing needs. Orders supplies as needed.
+ Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in education, management, or related field from an accredited college and one-year experience working in an educational or testing environment; or equivalent combination of experience and education. Must be able to work evenings and occasional weekends.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel).
+ Excellent organizational and time management skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to communicate with all groups of individuals; the ability to clearly state exam expectations and exam items in the event of reading.
+ Ability to adjust to changing situations and needs depending on the student.
+ Ability to provide excellent customer service by addressing student needs with patience, professionalism, and empathy.
+ Familiarity with common disabilities and diverse types of accommodations.
+ Familiarity with confidentiality and privacy laws (FERPA, etc.) and the ethical standards associated with administering exam accommodations.
+ Self-motivated to set priorities and work with limited direction/supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, management, or related field, and two years of experience working in an educational or testing environment. Experience with and knowledge of testing needs for students with accommodation needs.
