Summer Kids Quest Elementary Teacher

At Helena Public Schools, our vision is to foster dynamic educational experiences that prepare all students for life. The JumpStart program is designed to assist qualifying incoming Kindergarten- Third Graders in developing reading literacy skills through instruction and play. Quest will be a five (5) week program, June 16-July 17, Monday-Thursday and will be scheduled to work six (6.5) hours per school day (8:00 am to 2:30 pm). Incoming Kindergarten- 1 Teacher Incoming 1st Grade- 1 Teacher Incoming 2nd Grade- 2 Teachers Incoming 3rd grade- 1 Teacher

Some of what you will do:

+ Cultivate cognitive growth, social skills and curiosity through play, meaningful work and caring relationships.

+ Develop lesson plans and instructional material based on district approved curriculum.

+ Provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.

+ Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

+ Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports.

+ Identify pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals and develops strategies for individual education plans.

+ Establish an effective rapport with students.

+ Communicate regularly with parents outside a normal classroom day by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.

Who we are looking for: To become part of this dedicated team, it is preferred that you have a Montana teaching certificate with elementary or early childhood endorsement area.

The ideal candidate will possess at least a year of successful teaching experience in an elementary classroom and have multiple areas of endorsement. Preference will be given to candidates with preschool experience.
