• Pulmonary Function Technologist (Per Diem)

    SUMMARY:

    The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine is looking for a qualified, motivated individual to join the division as a pulmonary function testing (PFT) technician.

     

    We are currently seeking candidates with availability to work Wednesdays, as well as provide coverage (for vacations, sick call, etc.) as needed

    PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This individual’s primary responsibilities would be performing diagnostic pulmonary function tests (PFTs), preparing test reports for analysis and interpretation, and setting-up, calibrating and maintaining PFT equipment. Additional responsibilities may include:

     

    + Performing 6 minute walk tests (6MWT) and oxygen needs assessments

    + Administration of nebulized medications

    + Patient education for proper inhaler use and airway clearance techniques

     

    This individual will be interacting directly with patients, some of whom are physically challenged. Patience and good people skills are critical. Prior experience performing PFTs is not required but will be viewed favorably.

    MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    + Bachelor’s degree or higher

    + Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills

    + Basic life support (BLS) certification

    + Good computer skills
