Job Title: Unit Clerk/Monitor Tech
Department: ICU
Hours Per Week: 37.5 hours weekly
Schedule: 12 hour shifts 1845 to 0715 (6:45pm to 7:15 am) Night shift, variable days, two weekends a month, plus holiday coverage
SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or designated delegate, the Unit Clerk/Monitor Tech supports the daily operations of the nursing unit by performing clerical and receptionist duties, maintaining an organized and functional work environment, and assisting with additional tasks as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Monitors cardiac rhythms for all CCU and medical/surgical patients, promptly notifying appropriate staff of any irregularities.
+ Performs clerical duties such as updating patient records, recording physician orders, and maintaining organized unit documentation.
+ Answers phones professionally, directs calls or takes messages, and welcomes visitors while addressing inquiries or referring them as needed.
+ Maintains unit inventory by stocking supplies, preparing requisitions, and handling faxing, photocopying, and supply retrieval for nursing staff.
+ Coordinates patient discharges and transfers by communicating with transport services and providing necessary support to nurses and providers.
+ Ensures compliance with HIPAA and infection control policies, assists with patient lifting when needed, and supports additional unit tasks as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ High School Diploma (or equivalent)
+ Must pass SLH Dysrhythmia Course during orientation period and prior to performing monitor tech duties
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Minimum 1-year previous experience in acute care setting
+ Medical terminology
+ National Telemetry Certification
+ Cardiac Arrhythmia Recognition course with documentation of completion

Note: Not all per diem roles are union eligible

PAY RANGE:
$18.27 - $27.67
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
