    Clinical Coordinator - Echocardiography

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, instruction, and evaluation of students at assigned clinical sites.

    MAJOR DUTIES

    + Coordinates clinical education with didactic education as assigned by the program chair;

    + Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus. Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives;

    + Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught;

    + Evaluates and ensures effectiveness of the clinical affiliate/clinical education sites;

    + Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives;

    + Administers and grades class examinations;

    + Maintains records of student attendance and grades;

    + Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed;

    + Maintains program certification requirements;

    + Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training areas;

    + Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts;

    + Meets with students, staff members, supervisors, as needed;

    + Participates in assessment, planning, budgeting, and staff development;

    + Performs other duties as assigned.

    COMPETENCIES

    + Proficient in teaching methodology, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and guidance

    + Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials

    + Knowledge of vocational area of assignment

    + Skill in presenting subject matter

    + Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress

    + Skill in the use of computers and job related software programs

    + Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners

    + Oral and written communication skills

    + Knowledge of student information systems

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    + Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and demonstrated competencies in the discipline

    + Current ARDMS (RVT) (RDCS) or CCI (RVS) (RCS)

    + Two years of full-time professional work experience as a cardiac sonographer, pediatric cardiac sonographer and/or vascular technologist

    + Documented experience in supervision, instruction, and evaluation of students

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    In addition to the minimum qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    + Hourly

    + Salary commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience
