    Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

    Job Description

    As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting electrical schematics ranging from low voltage to 480V-3 phase, and understanding mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics. You will use machine tool manuals, technical documents, assembly instructions, troubleshooting guides, and internal and vendor resources to research machine issues. You will independently troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including CNC equipment and PLCs. You will also use various electrical testing devices and programming equipment to perform all general electrical repairs.

    Responsibilities

    + Independently troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including CNC equipment and PLCs.

    + Use various electrical testing devices and programming equipment to perform general electrical repairs.

    + Participate in continuous improvement processes and collaborate with team members in problem-solving meetings.

    + Assist in requisitioning all spare and repair parts to maintain inventory at a desired level to minimize machine downtime.

    + Support equipment installations and removals.

    + Effectively communicate with production supervisors regarding repairs and maintenance performed in a computerized maintenance management system.

    + Experienced with Lock out/Tag out techniques.

    Essential Skills

    + Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics ranging from low voltage to 480V-3 phase.

    + Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.

    + 4-5+ years of CNC maintenance experience.

    + Experience in troubleshooting PLCs and electrical systems.

    + Proficiency in preventive maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting.

    + Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

    + Ability to perform electrical maintenance and industrial repairs.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with blueprint reading.

    + Knowledge of Siemens and Fanuc controls.

    + Ability to set up various CNC machines.

    Work Environment

     

    The facility is well-lit, organized, and climate-controlled, with a pleasant atmosphere. It houses 120 CNC machines, including 60 mills and 60 lathes. Employees benefit from a nice break room and training room, and work shifts include 1st Shift (6am-4pm Mon-Fri, occasional Saturdays) and 2nd Shift (4pm-2am).

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover Park, Illinois.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
