Job Title: Parts Preparation Specialist

Job Description

+ The Parts Preparation Specialist is responsible for preparing parts for painting by cleaning them with acetone or isopropyl, taping them to trays, and flipping them once painted.

+ The role involves sanding and deburring parts using various tools, which may require physical effort, especially when sandblasting.

+ This position involves working with small parts and prepping between 1,500 to 3,000 parts each shift.

Responsibilities

+ Clean parts using acetone or isopropyl.

+ Tape parts to trays and flip them post-painting.

+ Sand and deburr parts using files, wire brushes, hand grinders, or power tools.

+ Perform sandblasting tasks that may be physically demanding.

+ Prepare and manage small parts, ensuring 1,500-3,000 parts are prepped each shift.

Essential Skills

+ Prior manufacturing experience or experience working in a production setting.

+ Ability to work independently and manage repetitive tasks.

+ Attention to detail and focus, with an eye for quality.

+ High initiative and a sense of urgency.

+ Comfortable working around chemicals (paint, acetone, isopropyl) and wearing a respirator or mask occasionally.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with paint and paint preparation, including powder coating.

+ Experience with hand tools, painting, cleaning, sanding, spray guns, and industrial painting.

+ Ability to meet deadlines, quotas, and production goals.

+ Good vision and ability to see fine details.

+ Mathematical skills and ability to perform basic computer functions.

Work Environment

+ The work environment is within an aerospace company that produces thermoplastic composite parts for airplanes using carbon fiber.

+ The facility is equipped with advanced technology, including laser jets, welders, saws, ovens, and presses.

+ The shop is very clean, promoting clean processes, and employees work on their feet all day, occasionally lifting up to 35 lbs.

+ There is a friendly atmosphere with around 70 employees currently, with a history of employing over 180 before the pandemic

Job Type & Location

+ This is a Contract to Hire position based out of POST FALLS, Idaho.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
