    The Lead Engineer is responsible for the execution of technical projects, supervision of staff, development of technical standards, multi\-year planning, and the implantation of project controls and other technical support for the LNG and LPG facilities\. In addition, this position supports the LNG Operations group by assigning resources as necessary to support the development of and continued compliance with technical procedures and programs\. This position is responsible for supervising, assigning, prioritizing, and directing the work performed by other Engineers and staff\.

    Essential Functions:

    + Supervises, coaches, and develops engineers; approves time sheets and conducts performance reviews, assigns and prioritizes work performed by direct reports\.

    + Responsible for the cost and performance of projects and budgets\.

    + Responsible for the development, justification, and approval of project approval documents, budgets, technical procedures, standards, and other complex documents\.

    + Ensures that the design and specification of additions, modifications and replacements to equipment, meet the necessary regulatory and company standards\.

    + Responsible for the development of engineering standard designs and details, as necessary\.

    + Collaborates with other Engineers within the group and greater Gas Business to ensure consistency and teamwork\.

    + Reviews purchase requisitions, and invoices related to departmental activity\. Monitors and provides reports on project and departmental budgets\. Provides variances from scheduled and cost targets\.

    + Provides technical support and direction to operating areas relative to equipment performance, training, engineering guidelines, and operating decisions during normal and emergency situations\.

    + Accountable for root\-cause analysis, development and implementation of corrective actions\.

    + Responsible for the evaluation and selection of technology and equipment for the facilities\.

    + Responsible for the development of standards and procedures for design, operation and maintenance\.

    + Administers the LNG Group’s Management of Change process for Operations and Engineering\.

    + Ensures that process changes are reviewed through the Process Hazards Analysis program\.

    + Responsible for ensuring all plant P&IDs, Arc Flash Studies, Fire Studies, Electrical Area Classifications, and other technical documents required by regulation are maintained up to date\.

    + Supports plant supervision with technical writing, ensuring supervisors have consistent procedures\.

    + Maintains library of Project Management Procedures and Engineering Standards\.

    + Works with plant supervision to define training requirements for all LNG employees\. Is the primary liaison with Eversource’s Training Dept\. to ensure all LNG employee’s training is properly, tracked and ensures compliance\.

    + Support both Eversource Enterprise and LNG/LPG business Safety, Environmental, and Compliance goals and initiatives\.

    + Assumes the role of the Manager as required\.

    Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

    _Technical Knowledge/Skill:_

    + Demonstrated excellence in leadership, coordination, and budget management tasks\.

    + Demonstrated problem\-solving skills andattention\-to\-detail\.

    + Ability to understand thermodynamics and cryogenic fundamentals as they relate to LNG and LPG facilities\.

    + Extensive knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations and industry codes\.

    + Self\-motivated and acts independently with minimum oversight\.

    + Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications abilities\.

    + Working knowledge of standard office computer software \(e\.g\., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc\.\)\.

     

    _Education:_ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required\.

     

    _Experience_ : Minimum of eight \(8\) years in the technical, operational, or engineering aspects of the utility or industrial industry\. Supervisory experience preferred\.

    _Licenses & Certifications:_

    + Ability to become Operator Qualified under the DOT Program

    + Valid Driver’s license is required

    Working Conditions:

    + Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required\.

    + Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary\.

    + _This position is categorized as safety\-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing\. Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre\-assignment drug test if the individual is currently in a non\-safety sensitive position\. As an employee in this position the individual shall be subject to random drug testing\._

    $141,440\.00\-$157,150\.00
