    Minimum qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree in Hardware Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

    + 8 years of experience in multiple hardware technology domains (e.g.,camera display, batteries, etc.), applying Design for Reliability/physics of failure techniques or Product design.

    + Experience with statistical analysis (e.g., JMP or Weibull++ Monte Carlo Analysis, DoE, SPC).

    + Experience collaborating with suppliers around the world on part manufacturing and final and subassembly, including onsite factory support.

    Preferred qualifications:

    + Experience in applying design for reliability techniques (FTA, DFMEA) and reliability modeling techniques (such as Reliability Block Diagram, Weibull, Reliability Growth Models.

    + Experience and trained in ASQ, CRE or in a similar field within the reliability engineering field.

    + Experience with Python, R, MATLAB, LabVIEW or other programming languages for data analysis and hardware tests.

    + Experience with a highly complex opto-mechanical system.

    + Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

    + Excellent leadership level communication, project management, planning and organizational skills.

     

    As a Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in creating new consumer electronic products that meet a high bar for reliability and performance. You will work closely with the product management and design engineering teams to define standards, specify tests, and then supervise test execution and failure analysis. A broad engineering background and command of statistical methods will help to inform design of new products. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will be key to ensuring adoption of your technical recommendations.

     

    In this role you will lead reliability planning, methodology, and execution for high-risk, high-complexity designs and integration aspects across multiple products. Provide advanced expertise in developing reliability design and test strategies for new product development of complex designs and technologies systems. Own and oversee material, design, or reliability innovations that have significant cross-organizational impact, encompassing industry-defining new technologies and evolutions of current technologies to improve performance, resilience, and time to market. As well as project scoping and priorities, including finding and allocating technical resources to help with the project work.

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$258,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.     + Provide technical leadership through a product life cycle, from DFMEA to sustaining. Lead reliability test planning, methodology and execution for all aspects of the product.

    + Collaborate with design, tech engineering and operation teams to execute reliability testing across NTI, NPI and sustaining. Work with cross-functional teams to translate reliability goals into appropriate matrices.

    + Conduct statistical data analysis, ALT testing, modeling, and risk assessment.

    + Develop reliability performance metrics and lead management reviews to review progress against those metrics. Lead reliability test planning, methodology and execution for all aspects of the product. Translate product management reliability goals into appropriate testable targets.

    + Drive the failure analysis process for all failures discovered during reliability testing.
