UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Systems Server Engineer to support the design, infrastructure, and deployment of a major citywide digital platform improving access to child care services. This position requires experience administering and maintaining Linux OS servers, iPlanet Web Servers, IBM MDM/IIS, Oracle WebLogic Application, Portal Servers, Windows Servers. This is a remote role operating during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, and candidates must reside in the EST Time Zone.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Candidates without the mandatory qualifications will not be considered.

+ Minimum 8 years of experience administering and maintaining Linux OS servers, iPlanet Web Servers, IBM MDM/IIS, Oracle WebLogic Application/Portal Servers, and Windows Servers both on-prem and in cloud environments

+ At least 8 years of experience writing SQL

+ Strong expertise in cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure)

+ Ability to write scripts using Ant, Maven, and Shell for configuration management, build and deployment processes

+ Experience with Single Sign-On (SSO) configuration using SiteMinder with iPlanet and/or Oracle WebLogic Servers

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

+ Experience using Oracle 19c, AWS RDS/MySQL, or other database appliances

+ Familiarity with scalable application design principles

+ Experience working with service-oriented architecture (SOA) and RESTful web services

+ Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes

+ Exposure to multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

SOFT SKILLS:

+ Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills

+ Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams

+ Excellent communication and documentation skills

+ Comfortable managing complex technical environments with multiple stakeholders

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

The System Engineer will support the full lifecycle of a public-facing digital platform and ensure operational integrity from infrastructure design to deployment and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities Include:

+ Perform technical design, development, and component testing for platform enhancements

+ Set up and maintain cloud-based server infrastructure

+ Engage with development teams to provide production management input for new application builds

+ Design and maintain scalable data pipeline architecture

+ Coordinate and resolve production and non-production issues

+ Monitor compliance with system and code requirements for internal and external development teams

+ Support server monitoring during QA, UAT, and deployment phases

+ Maintain comprehensive system documentation

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions

+ Execute special initiatives and contribute to infrastructure optimization
