    Shift: Days 6am-2:30pm

     

    Hours Per Week: 40 hours

    Hiring Range:

    Biomed I $29.02-$42.09

     

    Biomed II $29.89-$43.35

     

    Biomed III $30.47-$44.19

     

    The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

    Responsibilities:

    • Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect medical equipment and instrumentation used in healthcare delivery, including life support equipment, under minimal to moderate supervision.

    • Perform preventive maintenance, inventory assessments, and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems.

    • Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions.

    • Maintain documentation on new equipment, inspections, and equipment repairs and failures.

    • Assist with and evaluate third-party repairs.

    • Provide technical assistance and instruction to staff regarding equipment operation and maintenance.

    • Review the outcome of preventive maintenance actions and make recommendations to department staff concerning improvements.

    • May mentor other biomedical equipment technicians, and assist senior technicians with in-service educational programs on the use of equipment.

     

    Education, Training & Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in electronics or biomedical equipment technology, or DOD (Department of Defense) BMET diploma is highly preferred.

     

    A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
