The Johns Hopkins University school of Nursing is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow with a focus on obesity treatment research under the mentorship of Dr. Ariana Chao. The fellowship will provide training in clinical trials research and management including NIH and pharmaceutical trials, along with skills in critical thinking, manuscript preparation, and grant writing, which are vital for pursuing an independent research career. Specific expertise will be developed in clinical trial management, behavioral weight loss, cognitive behavioral therapy for binge-eating disorder, technology-based interventions, and anti-obesity medications. The Fellow will join an interdisciplinary team and receive ongoing training via hands-on experience on NIH and industry funded clinical trials. Data analysis and writing via access to existing datasets will be encouraged. Extensive mentored opportunities exist for publication and grant-writing.
The initial appointment is for one year, with reappointment for a second year provided satisfactory performance.
Requirements include a doctorate in nursing, clinical psychology, or related fields, experience working with people with obesity or disordered eating, good statistical skills, and good writing skills (publications). Application review will begin immediately, and applications will be considered until the position is filled, with a start date occurring in Fall 2025 (September).
Salary: $70,000
