    Shimmick is seeking a highly talented **Field Engineer** to be based out of **San Diego, CA** . This challenging position will provide an excellent growth opportunity while improving the infrastructure of the city.

Shimmick is a national Contractor that has an excellent reputation within the industry and is seeking a qualified individual to join our Southwest Division. Shimmick takes on challenging projects and performs high-quality work ranging from expanding/constructing water and wastewater treatment plants to construction of the new Gerald Desmond Bridge.

    Responsibilities

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

    + Under minimal supervision, performs complex duties utilizing advanced techniques and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and methods.

    + Assumes lead responsibilities for a team of engineers and professional support staff.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience in heavy civil construction projects

    + Experience managing a team of engineers

    + Producing and implementing work plans

    Additional Information:

    + Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

    The salary range for this position is between **$125,000 - $145,000** per year depending on experience and/or education.

    These benefits are available to all employees working more than 20 hours per week. Employees working less than 20 hours per week are eligible for medical, dental and vision coverage as well as EAP services.
