APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY - $64,414.80 to $95,630.40 PAY GRADE: 35

The Position
Tax Program Supervisors plan, organize, direct and administer tax and fee collection activities as well as tax compliance programs in an assigned agency; oversee taxpayer assistance and education activities performed by subordinate staff; and oversee revenue and taxpayer accounting functions.
The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is recruiting to fill a Tax Program Supervisor 1 position in Carson City. The incumbent is responsible for the planning, development, monitoring, and implementation of projects that effect registration, permit, and tax functions of the Motor Carrier Division as well as providing support to the Division Leadership Team and Management Analyst. Motor Carrier Projects include assisting in the implementation and maintenance of computer programs; preparing and gathering statistical material for performance measures; review of daily, weekly, and monthly licensing activity to ensure proper and timely processing of registration, permits, taxes, and fees; developing and updating policies, procedures, and forms; researching and analyzing the impact of federal legislation and regulations; researching, developing, tracking, and implementing state legislation and regulations; assisting with the development of fiscal note requests; and researching and preparing reports to recommend appropriate action.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, economics, business, or related field and one year of professional tax or revenue collection, examination or administration experience requiring the interpretation and application of laws and regulations in the review of financial documents for legal compliance; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of professional experience as described above; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
This position requires travel up to 50% of the time.
This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
