APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY - $39,421.44 to $56,689.20 PAY GRADE: 23

The Position
Mental Health Technicians supplement the work of mental health professionals, health specialists, and nursing staff in providing direct client care for clients in a mental health facility.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
The Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (SNAMHS) is recruiting for Mental Health Technician 1 at Stein Forensic Hospital, Las Vegas. This recruitment will be used to underfill the Mental Health Technician 3 position. This position will provide direct consumer care, such as provide psychosocial rehabilitation, teach basic skills, take vital signs, introduce and support community activities to consumers, will observe and document findings in the electronic record system, facilitate individual or group basic skills training sessions under direct supervision of mental health professionals, and transport clients to and from appointments using state vehicle. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of general work experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
Applicants must successfully complete a pre-employment physical and be free of active tuberculosis.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant at the cost of the applicant.
Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
