We’re looking for a skilled Broadcast IT Technician to join our Engineering team. This is a broadcast-focused position responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting critical production, studio, and transmission systems, with additional support for IT operations as needed. If you're a hands-on problem solver with a passion for broadcast technology, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
+ Support and maintain studio systems, including cameras, lighting, audio/video routing, and broadcast core infrastructure
+ Troubleshoot and repair ENG systems (e.g., Sony cameras, bonded cellular TVU packs) and support ENG vehicles
+ Maintain remote and transmitter site equipment, including RF systems (low to high power experience is a plus)
+ Assist with installation, documentation, and support of cabling and hardware using AutoCAD or Visio
+ Collaborate with Engineering and News teams to keep broadcast systems running smoothly and reliably
+ Provide basic IT support: setting up and maintaining desktops, printers, and mobile devices
+ Respond to help desk requests, troubleshoot user issues, and ensure systems are secure and up-to-date
What You’ll Bring
+ Strong understanding of broadcast systems and signal flow
+ Working knowledge of RF transmission, IP-based media workflows, and field production tools
+ Experience with Windows, Linux, and Mac OS platforms
+ Familiarity with the OSI model and basic networking concepts
+ Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and signal paths
+ Proficiency with documentation tools (AutoCAD or Visio preferred)
+ Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
+ Mechanical aptitude and basic soldering skills
+ Valid driver’s license; ability to work on ladders and in varied environments (studio, field, remote sites)
