+ Stay up to date with news cycles and political conversations at the state and national levels

+ Help Representatives communicate their legislative priorities

+ Assist in executing rapid response plans

+ Prepare members for interviews, media scrums, and other press opportunities

+ Knowledge of current political events and Michigan Democrats’ platforms

    + Strong interpersonal skills

+ Strong critical thinking skills, out-of-the-box thinking, with a mind for politics

+ Organized, able to multitask, and work collaboratively

+ Reliable work ethic and self-motivated

+ Eager to learn and try new things

+ Able to follow specific directions and work independently or within a team

+ Comfortable asking questions, seeking additional guidance, bouncing ideas off others and incorporating constructive feedback

+ Able to meet deadlines and manage multiple, simultaneous projects at once

    The Ideal Candidate:

+ Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills with an outgoing and professional demeanor

+ An ability to read people, read a room, and read a situation

+ An understanding of Democratic values and an ability to translate those values into persuasive narratives via various mediums

+ A passion for Democratic values and a strong understanding of state-level politics

+ Able to craft, tailor, and deliver effective, on-point messaging
