+ Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED

+ Experience

+ Minimum of one year experience in customer service setting, preferably six months receptionist experience in health care setting and experience with office equipment. Requires six months on-the-job training to become proficient in transcription work and familiarity with department procedures. Ability to work independently of others and exercise good judgement. Prior health care experience desired.

+ Normal physician office environment. Close eye work. Hearing of normal and/or soft tones. Occasional exposure to hazards. Demonstrate the ability to operate or learn to operate a multi-line phone, copier, fax, standard computer programs such as word. Continuous walking and standing. Frequent bending, stooping, pulling and pushing. Lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs. Pushing and or pulling up to 300 lbs.

+ JOB SUMMARY

+ Assist the designated nurse and or physician to complete their clinical duties as such duties are within scope of practice. Facilitate patient throughput within the clinic and testing areas. Routinely greet and escort patients. Operate clinic specific software and equipment. Place patients in exam rooms, complete vital signs, and gather relevant data related to this visit. Present patients directly to the assigned physician. Follow up on patients after appointment to ensure all orders are carried through and report issues to the nurse. Must have a neat appearance and positive disposition and be able to work well with individuals from varied backgrounds. Must be conscientious, dependable and adhere to the goals and mission of the clinic and medical center. Must be able to transcribe medical reports, letters and other material for physicians, physician extenders and nurses in a timely manner. Finger dexterity necessary to operative word processor keyboard with high degree of accuracy, spelling and grammar, etc. Attendance is an essential function of this job.

This role will require dual training in both general and gynecologic oncology and will serve as liaison between Cancer Treatment Center and West Cancer Center providers. Ensure all required supplies are available and patients are scheduled according to agree upon provider preference. Must have advanced knowledge in Gyn Onc procedures, processes, and equipment needs. Will require communication with Central Sterile to ensure instruments are processed and ready before clinic begins. Reports any clinical needs immediately to appropriate provider from each clinic. Must communicate with patients and direct questions to the correct facility.
