    Role Summary:

    The candidate will be placed in an interdisciplinary team working towards autonomous driving functions.

    The intern will research and develop path-following and vehicle motion planning algorithm.

    The internship offers hands-on experience in evaluating and implementing algorithms to enhance vehicle control smoothness.

    Role Responsibilities:

    Engage in a motion planning project encompassing online path replanning and control signal optimization.

    Research and assess various motion controller algorithms.

    Implement and refine algorithms in C++ using quadratic programming framework.

    Integrate and optimize source code for prototype vehicle applications.

    Qualifications Qualifications:

    Education-Required:

    Must be a Master’s or Ph.D. student enrolled at a University/College or Graduation date must be within the last six months.

    Skills:

    Fundamental understanding of controllers such as Model Predictive Control (MPC).

    Strong background in C++.

    Experience with ROS/ROS2 framework.

    Familiarity with quadratic programming frameworks or parallel programming frameworks.

    Fluent in English, German is a plus.

    In San Jose, California, the hourly rates for this role are based on level of education:

    Undergraduate (Junior or Senior): $35/hour

    Graduate (Master’s): $38/hour

    PhD: $42/hour
