About Us – Setpoint Systems Corporation

At Setpoint Systems Corporation, we don’t just design building automation systems — we redefine what’s possible.

Since 1983, we’ve led the Rocky Mountain Region by delivering cutting-edge control solutions for military bases, mission-critical facilities, major healthcare networks, and high-rise developments.

We are building a team of leaders — engineers who are decisive, competitive, assertive, and driven by innovation. As Setpoint continues to expand across critical infrastructure markets, our engineers will play a key role in shaping the future of building intelligence.

If you’re ready to lead, challenge the status quo, and deliver excellence, we want you on our team.

    What You’ll Do

As an Application Engineer III, you won’t just contribute — you’ll own the outcome. You will lead complex building automation projects from kickoff to closeout, commanding the technical design, budget strategy, customer relationships, and project execution.

We’re looking for dynamic, self-assured professionals who seek change, embrace challenges, and are relentlessly committed to getting it right the first time.

    Key Responsibilities

    System Design & Technical Execution

    • Independently design complete BAS solutions for HVAC, lighting, and access controls with confidence and precision.

    • Create complete submittal drawings, detailed floor plan markups, schematics, and comprehensive project documentation while following processes, procedures and standards.

    • Lead the design process across project phases (30%, 90%, final closeout) with clarity and precision.

    • Integrate innovative and energy-efficient solutions into system designs, proactively seeking improvement opportunities.

    Estimate & Analyze with Confidence

    • Prepare sharp, competitive cost estimates and own labor budgets from start to finish.

    • Take ownership of labor budget management, re-estimation, RFIs, and change order processes.

    • Perform detailed energy utilization and conservation calculations to strengthen project proposals.

    Communicate & Collaborate with Purpose

    • Engage assertively with customers to define project needs, present system options, and recommend decisive solutions.

    • Collaborate closely with account managers during project estimates and proposals, offering technical leadership.

    • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a committed, knowledge-driven team environment.

    Learn & Grow with Determination

    • Own your professional growth — master Delta Controls, BACnet protocols, and new technologies before others do.

    • Pursue professional development through internal training programs and external vendor training.

    • Bring a lively, dynamic approach to collaboration with coworkers and managers on increasingly complex projects.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Decisive leadership and competitive drive

    • Self-assurance, dynamism, and relentless pursuit of innovation

    • Detailed focus, dutiful execution, and a commitment to excellence

    • Loyalty to your craft, your clients, and your team

    Required Background

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)

    • 10+ years of experience in building control systems, BAS, or HVAC design

    • Advanced expertise in DDC, electric and pneumatic systems, and complex BAS integration

    • Leadership-level verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

    Preferred Credentials

    • LEED GA/AP Certification

    • Certified Energy Manager (CEM)

    • Professional Engineer (PE) License

    • ASHRAE Membership

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Competitive salary with real growth potential

    • Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance

    • Employer-paid Life Insurance

    • 3 weeks PTO annually

    • 401(k) with company match

    • Healthcare & Dependent Care FSA
