    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    + Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area

    + Operate various types of CNC machines to produce parts conforming to print requirements, may include basic program adjustments to meet quality and schedule requirements

    + Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures

    + Demonstrate an understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and basic print reading

    + Performs basic daily maintenance or checks for machines

    + Will make more complex program or tooling adjustments to produce conforming parts

    + Operate a 2 axis lathe and hold .0005 tolerances

    + Operate a 4th axis mill

    + Perform First Part Inspections for all lathe and mill operations

    + Mentor and assist colleagues in set ups or program adjustments

    + Will make program or set up datasheet adjustments to master files for future use

    + Other duties as necessary

     

    SKILLS and ABILITIES

     

    + Computer skills (MS Office) and experience in ERP systems preferred

    + Working knowledge of manufacturing principals, basic shop math, and basic blueprint reading

    + Knowledge of hand tools and general inspection tools

    + Ability to read and follow work orders, set up data sheets, and measurement instructions

    + Ability to change some machine set ups (pallets, collets, etc.)

    + Can perform diagnostics, repairs, and troubleshoot basic programming and machine issues

    + Ability to change most machine set ups and update master programming and set up data sheets

    + Willing and able to train colleagues with troubleshooting and adjusting machines and programs

     

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

     

    + Previous experience in production and quality control methods (ISO9001, AS9100 etc.) preferred.

    + Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation and production systems preferred.

    + Previous experience in manual or CNC machining preferred.

    + Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    + Must be able to stand, stoop and lift up to 40 lbs.
