_The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule_ **_YEAR-ROUND_** _._

Your Responsibilities

As a Part Time Student - 5S/CI for **JD** Construction & Forestry located in **Dubuque, IA,** you will:

+ Develop shop floor 5S Solutions to improve organization, efficiency and safety.

+ Update and refresh 5S catalog and keep fill

+ Assist with updating 5S SharePoint and ordering systems

+ Provide assistance for RCI activities, CI data collection and analysis

This position is not available to students on immigration visas

What Skills You Need

+ Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology (others may apply)

+ Available to work during the academic year 16-20 hours/weekly.

+ Available to work during the summer semester 35-40 hours/weekly.

+ Must be able to commute to the work location in Dubuque, Iowa, on a daily basis year-round.

+ Proficient using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

+ Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited college/university.

+ Graduation date of spring 2026 or later.

+ Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.

The John Deere Dubuque Works is one of the key facilities in Deere & Company's Construction and Forestry (C&F) Division. The Dubuque Works manufactures backhoe loaders, crawler dozers, and skid steer loaders for the construction industry and knuckleboom loaders and tracked feller bunchers for the forestry industry. The Dubuque Works also serves as the Center of Excellence for the C&F Division in the areas of Product Engineering, Product Verification and Validation, Supply Management, and Product Support which includes the Dealer Technical Assistance Center. From a manufacturing perspective, the core competencies of the factory include plate and sheet cutting, machining, welding, paint, and assembly.

The John Deere Dubuque Works is one of the most innovative and productive facilities of its kind.
