Job Description:
The team is looking for a software tester to support the Lead Development Test Organization (LDTO), 96 CTG/45 TS OL-A, the United States Air Force, at Maxwell Air Force Base-Gunter Annex, Alabama. The software test team conducts many different activities, such as test planning, analyzing, designing, configuring, and test execution. Additionally, we report daily test progress and results and evaluate the quality of test results.

You will be working directly with experienced team members with many years in the software testing field and professional certifications like CTFL, CTFL-AT, AT*SQA DevOps, CompTIA Security+CE, and Micro Focus UFT One Tester Specialist. If you have a technical IT-background and want to learn more about software and other related testing such as automated and performance testing, this is the job for you.
We are looking for professionals with a software testing background, who have strength in requirements reviews or user story refinement, experience working closely with system designers and developers while the code is under development\. And experience with verifying and validating software prior to release.
While executing test events, work hours can be extended and may vary. Test events are typically 1 -2 weeks in length. Travel requirements are typically 1 -2 times per year but varies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plan, execute, and report on the developmental test and evaluation for the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul - (MRO).
• Provide individual technical effort in responding to questions/issues of critical importance to the customer.
+ Support the development of strategic test documents such as Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), test team charters and Test Plans as applicable.
+ Assist in ensuring system requirements are testable and advises on performance measures, test entry/exit criteria, test design limitations and constraints, and test progress.
+ Employ test automation tools and utilities supporting test execution.
+ Develop and execute tests utilizing performance-testing tools.
+ Identify and document deficiencies and anomalies of systems under test, evaluate and report deficiencies, provide recommendations, and participate in deficiency review boards.
+ Prepare, execute, review, and analyze test objectives, plans, procedures, and metrics; prepares reports throughout the software development life cycle. Develop and write methods of tests, test cases, test cards, and any other test process documents required to plan, execute, and report on testing.
+ Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays when required to meet mission requirements.
+ Travel to TDY locations to execute test procedures; perform data management, reduction, and analysis; perform configuration management, hardware setup, and hardware troubleshooting.

Required SkillsRequired Experience
Required Experience:
+ One of the following combinations is required:
+ Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (i.e., EE, AE, ME, etc.) and 10 years of applicable experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (i.e., EE, AE, ME, etc.) and 18 years of applicable experience
+ High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 22 years of applicable experience.
+ US Citizenship required.
+ Must be able to obtain/maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance. Interim clearance required to start work.
+ Manual or Automated test tools experience.
+ Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and to lead and direct the work of others.
+ Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing including communication skills in areas of technical writing, briefings, and formal presentations.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
+ A current and active DoD SECRET security clearance is highly desired.
+ Demonstrated Agile DEV/SEC/OPS knowledge and experience.
+ Experience with Java programming language or similar scripting language.
+ Agile, and SAFe knowledge is desirable
+ Experience with Atlassian Tool suite is desirable
+ Experience with Micro-focus ALM is desirable
+ Experience with Micro-focus Octane is desirable
+ Past Functional and Performance Automated Testing
