    Responsibilities

    Provides assessment and counseling for clients with personal, emotional health and/or work-related concerns. When appropriate, utilizes mental health expertise counseling skills to provide short-term problem resolution and/or educational guidance services. Must possess the ability to provide a healing, safe, and therapeutic relationship between the counselor and the client. Usage of active communication techniques that demonstrate understanding and empathy for client’s thoughts and feelings. Must have experience in use of general cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) strategies. Must have experience with the DSM V and the ability to develop an action plan that builds off clinical impression and presenting issues.

     

    Provides organizational behavioral consultations regarding individual employee and workgroup relational concerns to enhance work culture and performance. Follow-up with clients and management regarding service outcomes and satisfaction. Provides management consultations, workgroup assessments and when appropriate trainings and presentations to address issues related to team effectiveness and leadership employee management techniques. Provides program orientation sessions and a variety of life seminars: art of communication, healthy relationships, parenting, stress management etc. Additional duties as needed, i.e., writing articles, support staff functions, Web site updates and other as needed job duties.

    Qualifications

    Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counselor education, or related field. Two years post graduate experience providing short-term therapy/counsel in a mental health facility. Experience working with a full range of normal life development client issues/concerns. Experience with a full range of psychological disorders. Strong speaking and educational training skills. Experience working in an internal employee assistance program is highly desirable. Ability to provide expertise organizational behavior consultations to HR and all levels of leadership desired. An academic or professional doctorate is preferred (PhD).

     

    LP, LICSW, LCSW, LPC, or LPCC (others will be considered). Wisconsin licensure required, ability to attain MN licensure within 3-6 months.

    $81,286 - $122,033 / year; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
