    Student Intern-Administrative Internship-Creative Department-Mount Sinai Health System-Hybrid-Part Time-Days

    Position Summary:

    Mount Sinai Health System – Office for Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) Pathway Programs

     

    Our Administration and Operations Summer Internship Program provides non-clinical (not patient facing) internship opportunities within hospital and corporate departments to high school, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students. Our goal is to expose individuals to unique career pathways in healthcare leadership, management, and administrative fields while offering the tools, skills, and knowledge necessary to succeed within the industry.

     

    Students are expected to participate in all ODI-sponsored activities, including educational sessions and panels, engagement events, and the Awards & Recognition Ceremony at the end of the summer.

    Qualifications

    Eligibility

    + Must be a senior, majoring in graphic design discipline.

    + Must be a junior or a senior in a design discipline with a strong emphasis in graphics, marketing, and communications, branding and/or advertising.

    + Must be a U.S. citizen, or have a permanent resident card or VISA.

    Skills and Qualifications

    + Attention to detail with strong organizational skills

    + Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills

    + Ability to work independently and on teams as well as prioritize staff

     

    Compensation Statement

     

    The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $17.00 - $22.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

    Responsibilities

    Department: Creative Department

     

    The Mount Sinai Health System Creative Department is seeking a graphic designer. This individual’s primarily responsible is helping to support design assignments for both print and digital applications. Experience in print design and production for colleterial and editorial communication, along with solid understanding of digital platforms such as WordPress and online/cloud apps is expected. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications are necessary, along with many aspects of the Microsoft 365 platform are used in this role.

     

    This role will report to the department’s Creative Director and will also assist the AVP, Chief of System Creative and Design. This is a highly creative and collaborative role, and the person in this position will interface many areas within the Marketing Communications department. Projects cover the Health System’s internal and external marketing and communication initiatives. The ideal candidate will be at ease learning and keeping brand standards, working in various creative applications, having some project management duties, and handling a busy workflow. He/she is highly organized, and looks to work in a dynamic, face pace and team environment.

     

    + Develop and implement design ideas as outlined by the Creative Director and AVP, Chief of System Creative and Design.

    + Work closely with other members of the Creative department, as well as members of the Marketing Communications department on creative projects assigned to.

    + Assists in establishing and maintaining creative standards/style guides and ensures adherence to those standards in all work produced.

    + Create finished designs for traditional print colleterial, out of home, advertisements print and digital, and our digital reports platform. As well as, building visual assets and other responsibilities that may be needed for on-going projects.

    + Adobe software, WordPress, website, and various digital app skills are required to create, and test file formats are in working order.

    + May be asked to design Microsoft PowerPoint slides, or Microsoft Word file.

    + Contribute to the management of the creative area.
