ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Security Officer at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center. Responsible for patrolling all areas of property and parking lots, securing doors, ensuring the safety of all guests, employees and contract labor while on premises; securing property during move in/out trade shows, conventions or events by performing the following duties:

Hourly Rate: $23

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSecures property.Locks and unlocks facility doors.Conducts routine property walks.Responds to emergency situations.Interacts with the public and all levels of management and fellow employees.Secures the safety of all individuals on the premises.Appropriately deals with 'unruly' people.Works independently and judges and assesses situations for immediate response.Other duties may be assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position does not have supervisory duties.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or ExperienceHigh School diploma or general education degree (GED); some college preferredMinimum one (1) year security experience, preferably in a similar environmentSkills and AbilitiesAbility to work with minimal supervisionStrong customer service skillsGood written, verbal and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including managementAbility to work irregular hours including, night shifts, weekends and holidaysProfessional presentation, appearance and work ethicComputer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, the individual should have excellent computer knowledge.Other QualificationsValid California Driver's License requiredThis position requires appropriate credentials as mandated by State, County or local law: Valid California Guard Card.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear; interact with aggressive people. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events and may be subjected to adverse conditions. This position may require climbing, stooping, lifting heavy objects, use hands and fingers.
