Summer 2025 Internship Program – Financial Control & Accounting Intern

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Intern to join our regional office's Financial Control & Accounting team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of a global corporation’s finance function. You will support various accounting activities, collaborate with experienced professionals, and gain exposure to financial systems and corporate reporting processes.

The 2025 dsm-firmenich Summer Internship Program will begin June 9th, 2025 and run through August 14, 2025

Our standard working hours are Monday – Friday (37.5 / 40 hours per week)

Your key responsibilities

• Assist with daily bookkeeping and financial data entry using ERP software (SAP)

• Support the preparation and review of monthly journal entries and account maintenance

• Help compile documentation for internal control, internal and external audits

• Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts

• Participate in the month-end and quarter-end close processes

• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and assist with cost center analysis

• Maintain organized records and assist with digital archiving of financial documents

• Collaborate with team members on process improvement initiatives

You Bring

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Strong academic standing (GPA 3.0 or above preferred)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software is a plus

• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude

The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour. Compensation will be dependent on factors that include location, education, training, specific skills, and years of experience.
