We are presently seeking an Assembly Technician that will assemble precision optical components, electronics, and mechanicals into mechanical assemblies for laser systems at both the component and sub-system level.

Main responsibilities:

+ Cleans and performs routine inspections and measurements of parts to meet specifications

+ Assemble basic optomechanical assemblies (assembly/alignment techniques, adhesive dispensing, and curing shimming techniques), following written procedures and completing all relevant paperwork.

+ Packages optomechanical assemblies for shipment

+ Chemical handling

+ Follow proper cleanroom practices and protocols.

+ Knowledgeable of using cleanline & ultrasonic cleaning equipment

+ Safety (understand and support safety)

+ High level of attention to detail

+ Experience with Data Entry

+ 6S support and understanding

+ Use of computers as well as records information on the process sheets correctly.

+ Experience with cleanrooms, lasers, electro-static discharge training, and use of torque limiting tools a plus.

+ Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

+ High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, 2-year Degree or Technical School Graduate preferred

+ 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing in an assembly department preferred

+ Experience working with precision optical components is desirable

+ ESD experience is desirable

+ Must be able to follow written assembly procedures without variance

+ Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.

+ Fine motor control, good hand-eye coordination; feel for handling sensitive optics and preserving finished surfaces

+ Must be able to lift 50 lbs

+ Understanding of and familiarity with basic computer usage under the Windows operating system

Pay Range: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Our facility in Boulder, Colorado has key functions in Research and Development, Operations, Production, and other disciplines. This facility specializes in the manufacturing of ultra-precision optical components, optical thin film coatings and optical sub-assemblies for demanding applications in lasers, materials processing, instrumentation, life sciences, avionics, and defense.
