    Physician Assistant (PA-C)

     

    AdventHealth Central Florida Division

    General Summary:

    _The PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician, is responsible for:_

    + Providing first assisting during surgical procedures

    + Participates in the management of the intraoperative care of surgical patients.

    + Ensuring operating room is properly set up and equipped for planned procedure

    + Perform all intraoperative tasks as directed by the surgeon

    + Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed

    + Specialties covered but not limited to: Robotics, Orthopedics, Urogynecology, Plastic Surgery, Neurology, and Vascular.

    Schedule Details:

    + Campuses Covered: AdventHealth Central Florida Division

    + 5-day operating schedule

    + Call and weekend responsibility

    Knowledge and Skills Required:

    + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.

    + Strong communication skills

    + Strong medical decision-making skills

    Required Education and Experience:

    + Graduation from an ARC-PA approved physician assistant program

    + Minimum 2 years’ experience as a PA-C in surgical first assisting in at least one of our listed specialties.

    + Preferred experience in spine and robotics

    Required Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

    + Current, valid and unrestricted Florida PA license

    + NCCPA certification

    + Current BLS (ACLS optional)
