**The Construction Manager (OCONUS)** will plan construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. The **Construction Manager (OCONUS)** will be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of the projects.
Responsibilities
+ Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
+ Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
+ Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
+ Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
+ Select tools, materials, and equipment and track inventory.
+ Meet contractual conditions of performance.
+ Review the work progress daily.
+ Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
+ Plan to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
+ Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts, and obtain permits and licenses.
+ Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
+ Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
+ Undertake other duties as assigned by the Project Director/CO
+ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in the field of Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
+ 7+ years of experience in construction project management with a focus on on-site construction experience across all phases of project delivery
+ Deployed to OCONUS locations 95% of the time
+ Background check with the ability to obtain top-secret clearance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
+ Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
+ Understanding all facets of the construction process.
+ Familiarity with construction management software packages.
+ Ability to plan and see the "big picture".
+ Competent in conflict and crisis management.
+ Leadership and human resources management skills.
+ Strong organizational, communication, and managerial skills, and self-motivation, yet effective in teams and with senior management.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
+ Must be able to work up to 50 hours a week, six days a week, 10 hours a day
