Chenega Systems (CS) provides federal agencies with empowered solutions in Cybersecurity and Data Visualization. Our Subject Matter Experts offer decades of experience working in the federal marketplace and the data visualization environment.
TheLead Software Engineer, Legacy Software Baseline, is responsible for the design, development, and modernization of legacy systems and interactive virtual tools associated with the Modeling & Simulation system to meet individual Mission Qualification Training and operational system requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Ensure legacy operational sustainment of all operational training, simulation, and stimulation artifacts.
+ Provide legacy CR/DR changes, GitLab ticket changes, User priorities, exercise urgent DRs, OS, fielding changes, exercise changes, etc.
+ Design and architect legacy ASCCE and Federation fielding and integration support.
+ Support to transition engineering all attributes marked for transition.
+ Provide software engineering support and leadership for research, design, development, integration, system testing, and utilization of electronic data processing software.
+ Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and system that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
+ Transform customer requirements into a technical, high performing software architecture while remaining flexible to changing requirements.
+ Determine computer user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
+ Utilize Agile Software Development processes to deliver software components, capabilities, artifacts, and software support information, including design information and compilation, build, and modification procedures.
+ Maintain, sustain, and update the current on-premise application and assist with the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
+ Maintain production baseline while incorporating new change requests and modernization efforts.
+ Develop, update, and deliver training materials and technical documents.
+ Test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimization.
+ Create and drive the detailed planning, scheduling, and execution of development plans to meet goals and schedules.
+ Attend and/or facilitate product demonstrations at the request of the user community.
+ Lead a team of software engineers and provide day-to-day technical guidance to team members on development activities.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related field required.
+ 7+ years of relevant experience developing systems such as Ada, Java, HTML, XML, C, C++, SQL, XSD, YACC, Perl, Groovy, VB, Shell, and other languages necessary.
+ Experience working with cloud-based services (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure) and/or RESTful architectures.
+ 2+ years of experience in military mission planning, operations, and wargaming.
+ 2+ years of relevant experience in simulation training at various levels working with the AOCs.
+ Secret clearance required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Ability to obtain Baseline IAT-II certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M requirements preferred.
+ Hands-on experience developing, implementing, and leading software team in an Agile environment.
+ Experience with DI2E software collaboration tools to include but not limited to: JIRA, Confluence, Subversion, Git, and code scanning tools, like Fortify.
+ Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware, Docker preferred.
+ Experience developing software applications with Java, Python, JavaScript.
+ Experience with relational database development preferred.
+ Experience with web-based application development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
+ Experience in Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration techniques.
+ Ability to solve complex problems utilizing creative thinking skills and effective communication skills.
+ Ability to critically analyze and understand the systems and communicate system requirements to the customer and leadership.
+ Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS as required.
+ Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
+ Ability to maintain and keep a secret security clearance.
+ Ability to maintain and obtain USAF CAC.
